Welcome to my blog!   The aim of my blog is to take complex research and turn it into concise, helpful information and suggestions for you, which you can then practically apply to improve your health.

Over the coming months, I’ll be providing answers to many of the questions I get asked on a daily basis, such as ‘Why does magnesium help migraines?’, ‘Aluminum is everywhere- is it safe?’, ‘What can I do to have sustained energy through their day?’ and ‘How can I reduce PMS without taking medication?’

But before we dive into these topics, let’s talk about something that’s going to help you get to the root cause of the symptoms you may currently be experiencing and create an effective, focused plan for helping you to feel better within a matter of weeks.

‘What is this magical tool?’, I hear you ask!

Hair mineral analysis.

Hair mineral analysis is a quick, non-invasive and painless way of testing your client’s health and nutritional status. During its metabolically active stage (the ‘growth stage’), hair is exposed to the body’s metabolic products, which are locked into hair as it reaches the skin’s surface, leaving a permanent record of that individual’s mineral status and heavy metal exposure.

Compared to blood or urine testing, the concentration of elements in hair is higher and less prone to fluctuation in samples. That’s why the Environmental Protection Agency uses hair as opposed to blood or urine to test toxic metal exposure. Hair is also a more reliable indicator of tissue stores, and is more hygienic and easier to store than blood or urine.

Whilst it can be used in combination with other forms of testing, such as hormone or gut testing, hair mineral analysis is more cost effective, and can identify any underlying mineral imbalances that may be causing uncomfortable symptoms or amplifying a pre-existing condition; for example, migraines, hypertension or atherosclerosis.

This means you can quickly and effectively address any imbalances via focused dietary modifications and supplement suggestions. Re-testing after 2-4 months allows you to monitor your progress.

For that reason, hair mineral analysis is a valuable tool and the report provided makes it easy to interpret the results, including any interactions between different minerals.

I’ll be back in a few weeks with more information about some of these minerals and the health conditions they’re associated with.

In the meantime; test don’t guess!
